TMJ Relief: A Gentle Approach with Craniosacral Therapy

TMJ Relief: A Gentle Approach with Craniosacral Therapy

Jaw tension can be subtle… or something you feel every day when you eat, speak, or wake up already tight. If you’ve been dealing with TMJ discomfort, there is a softer way to support your body back into ease.

What is TMJ?

TMJ is the joint that connects your jaw to your skull, right in front of your ears.

When it’s out of balance, you might notice:

* Tight or sore jaw

* Clicking or popping

* Headaches or ear pressure

* Clenching or grinding

What is Craniosacral Therapy?

Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle, hands-on approach that uses very light touch to help the body release tension.

It works with your nervous system—inviting it to slow down, soften, and reset.

How It Helps the Jaw

Jaw tension is rarely just about the jaw.

It’s often connected to:

* Stress and nervous system. activation

* Holding or bracing patterns

* Neck and shoulder tension

When the body feels safe, the jaw can finally let go.

A Gentle Jaw Release

(What Happens in Session)

1. Settling the Body

We begin by helping your system slow down. This is where real release starts.

2. Holding the Sides of Head

Soft contact around the temples helps reduce pressure on the jaw.

3. Jaw Support

Gentle work with the jaw muscles (outside, or with consent, inside the mouth) to release clenching.

4. Whole-System Reset

Everything is given time to integrate—often bringing a deep sense of calm.

Why This Approach Feels Different

* No force, no cracking

* Works with your body’s natural rhythm

* Supports lasting change, not just temporary relief

A Softer Way Forward

TMJ isn’t just mechanical—it’s often your body holding on.

Craniosacral Therapy creates space for that holding to unwind… naturally, gently, and in its own time.

A return to ease is possible.
